1. External Growth & Portfolio Expansion:
• Proactively identify and assess external opportunities including product dossiers for acquisition
or in-licensing, new categories, line extensions, and CMO partnerships to expand and diversify
the APAC CHC portfolio.
• Conduct comprehensive market, regulatory, and competitive assessments to evaluate fit,
feasibility, and commercial potential.
• Lead cross-functional due diligence processes involving regulatory, supply chain, finance, legal,
medical, and marketing stakeholders.
• Prepare strategic business cases and recommendations for regional and global leadership
teams.
• Build and maintain a structured pipeline of external growth opportunities aligned with regional
strategic priorities.
• Primary focus on the Group’s core therapeutic areas – gastroenterology and cognitive
performance – while also proactively scouting and evaluating opportunities in adjacent
therapeutic territories that could meaningfully strengthen and diversify the APAC CHC portfolio;
the scope of opportunity sourcing is not limited to the current portfolio’s categories.
2. Geo-Expansion & New Market Entry:
• Lead regional expansion initiatives across priority APAC markets by identifying new commercial
opportunities for Mayoly’s CHC portfolio.
• Map, assess, and qualify potential local partners (distributors, promotional partners, joint
ventures) based on capabilities, market presence, and strategic fit.
• Design and manage RFP processes for partner selection in new markets, ensuring
transparency, structured evaluation, and cross-functional alignment.
• Build go-to-market strategies propositions for each country, incorporating market access,
regulatory timelines, field force model, channel strategy (OTC/ethical), and brand portfolio
prioritization.
• Where applicable, assess opportunities for local acquisitions (brands or companies) and lead
the strategic and operational evaluation process in collaboration with finance, legal, and
corporate development.
• Collaborate with commercial and functional teams to ensure successful entry and scale-up in
new markets.
3. Internal Innovation & New Product Development
• Drive regional innovation projects from idea generation to successful market launch.
• Facilitate ideation sessions and consumer insight activities with local teams to ensure concepts
are relevant and actionable.
• Oversee cross-functional project planning, feasibility studies, and go-to-market implementation.
• Support post-launch monitoring for the first 6 months and coordinate course corrections as
needed based on early performance data.
4. Strategic and Operational Leadership
• Act as a strategic partner to the APAC GM and Country Head Vietnam and Alliance Manager Export, to align regional growth initiatives with overall business objectives.
• Foster collaboration across functions (regulatory, supply, medical, finance, legal, marketing) to ensure seamless execution of BD and innovation projects.
• Stay current with CHC trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory developments in APAC to inform strategy and pipeline planning.
• Represent the APAC region in global business development forums, innovation workshops, and leadership reviews.
Profil recherché
We are seeking a dynamic and entrepreneurial Regional Business Development & Portfolio Expansion Manager to join Mayoly APAC regional team. This strategic role is responsible for driving external growth initiatives, regional portfolio development, and market expansion across the region. The successful candidate will combine strong commercial acumen with a solid understanding of the Consumer Healthcare, FMCG, or Pharma landscape in APAC.
This role will lead:
• External opportunity sourcing (product acquisitions, licensing-in, CDMO/CMO partnerships),
• Regional geo-expansion initiatives, including partner identification and go-to-market strategy development,
• Internal innovation projects from ideation to in-market execution.
Knowledge, abilities & experience
Demonstrated experience in identifying local partners, managing RFP processes, and designing go-to-market strategies for new country entries.
• Proven track record in sourcing and executing licensing or M&A / acquisition deals across APACmarkets.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory and commercial dynamics in key APAC markets.
• Exceptional project management and cross-functional leadership skills.
• Strategic thinker with a proactive, analytical, and results-driven mindset.
Key Technical Competencies Required
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Pharmacy, Life Sciences, or a related field; MBA or
equivalent business qualification is a strong plus.
• 12-15 years of experience in Business Development, Licensing, Innovation Management, or
Market Expansion in the Consumer Healthcare, Pharma, or FMCG sectors.
• Languages: Fluent English in written and oral, fluency in one or more Asian languages is a plus.
• Negotiation track record: demonstrated experience as a lead or core negotiator on licensing, partnership, or CDMO/CMO agreements, with the proven ability to carry an opportunity
from initial scouting through due diligence, negotiation, and contract closure.
• Behavioral capacity: strong presence and gravitas; resilient and self-starting, with the ability to work autonomously and navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced, matrixed environment; able to influence and lead cross-functional stakeholders without formal line authority; entrepreneurial mindset with cultural adaptability across diverse APAC markets.
• External network: an active, self-built network across the region (industry contacts, potential partners, advisors, CDMO/CMO contacts) used proactively to surface and qualify the right opportunities; deep engagement with medical KOLs is not a requirement of this role.
• Travel: willing and able to travel regularly across APAC markets as required by the scope of the role.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Number and quality of validated external growth opportunities (product dossiers, licensing, CDMO/CMO partnerships) added to the regional pipeline.
Number of new market entries and/or partner agreements signed and successfully launched within agreed timelines.
Conversion rate of sourced opportunities through due diligence to signed agreements, and time-to-market for new country entries and product launches versus plan.
Breadth and quality of the regional BD network (industry contacts, potential partners, advisors) actively built and leveraged to generate qualified opportunities; this is the key sourcing metric for the role, and engagement with medical KOLs is not required.
Quality and timeliness of business cases and due diligence packs presented to regional and global leadership / Group BD & M&A and Finance. Other Useful Information
